Spring Cleanup

Spring cleanup is done every year by volunteers to make sure that the forest is clean and free of debris for our Spring Planting Festival. This event is open to any and all volunteers who wish to help.  We will be meeting in the forest at 10:00am. There will be no traders at this event.

This is an opportunity for you to participate in the traditions of the Native American planting ceremony.  The gates open for this at 9:30am and the ceremony starts at 10:00am. There will be no traders at this event.
 
 
Men’s Day

Men’s day is an event for men only.  It is held so that the men may get together and learn native crafts and traditions.  Men who plan to attend should be at least 13 years of age. There will be no traders at this event.
 
 
Kids Day

Kids day is open to children of any age to come and learn crafts and of the many things that can be found in the forest.  All children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be no traders at this event.
 
 
Lowell Folk Festival

GLICA will have a booth at this year’s Folk Festival.  We will be selling many native items as well has having information on our native events.
 
 
Women’s Day

This is a day for women only to come together and learn native traditions.  It is a great opportunity to ask questions about songs, dances or our culture.  All women who attend should be 13 years or older. There will be no traders at this event.
 
 
30th Annual Bedford VA Hospital Powwow

This is our biggest Powwow of the year.  Here you will have the chance to dance, hear native drumming and singing.  This event is open to the public and camping is encouraged.
 
 
Harvest Festival

At the fall Harvest Festival you can participate in the Native American Harvest and learn more about our culture and ceremonies. There will be no traders at this event.
